Kuwaiti-British ties enjoy 100 years of friendship

The Austrian/Dutch Elin Holec has been awarded a KD 6.9 Million ($22.2 Million) contract for the supply and installation of three 132/11-kV substation at Zahra, Mina Abdulla and Shahada. The Project will take 18-24 months.

Kuwait South Korea's Hyundai Engineering & Construction Company is the low bidder at KD4.6 Million ( $14.8 Millions ) for a project to supply and install 300/132-kV transmission lines.

MTC the local Mobile Telecommunications Company confirmed on 8 April that it will raise its capital by 5.1 per cent to KD49.3 Million ( $158.7 Million ).

      

 

KD 25m Arab Fund for Sudan

The Arab Fond for Social and Economic Development sigend in Khartoum yesterday a loan agreement with the Sudanese goverment worth KD 25 million to finance the Atabra-Haya and port Sudan road project.

Plans unveiled to develop two islands

Kuwait government is moving aheas on fast-track to develop two islands into major tourist resorts. The islands are located on the Arabian Gulf, north and east of Kuwait Bay. The 1st Failaka island covering a total area of 43 square kilometres, the project calls for the construction of hotels,camping sites,chalets,recreational facilities and four new jetties. The 2nd island is Bubiyan, covering 530 square kilometres. The estimated development budjet is KD200 Million ( $644 Million ).
